Welcome to our website!
Pigs were first brought to what is now Canada in 1598 by a French nobleman, the Marquis de La Roche de Mesgouez. Apart from wild game, pork was the most popular meat of early settlers. It could be preserved in heavy brine and was available as a meat source during the long winters.
Canada is now among the top 10 pork producers in the world! In 2013, Quebec was Canada's largest producer exporting 34% of the county's overall production.
Here at PK Heritage Farm, we take pride in raising happy hogs that produce a superior meat quality. This year, we are taking it one step further and are inviting you to discover our French-Canadian Heritage! Starting with grandma's creton recipe, available now!
